revenge sight & sound magazine cover
This is my Sight & Sound magazine cover for my film 'Revenge'. I chose the Sight & sound magazine because i researched two main magazines, an independent magazine and a known commercial magazine these were sight & sound and empire. as sight & sound isnt very wideley known but recognised by people who are specificly keen to know the inside arts of a film and how its produced. this gave me an idea to set my film on the cover of the sight & sound as our film is ranged as an independent film and more suitable to our target audience. the empire magazine focuses more on selling their products and advertising more of films and dvd's but i only wanted to specifically focus on our film and the producing of the film. the cover is designed to be simple but also seeks attention and uses a colour palette so this became simple for me to design my magazine cover as i didnt use many graphic designs or really striking images like empire magazine uses. i chose my tagline 'threes a crowd' to divide the center image of a character into three parts this also draws the viewers attention to the characters facial expressions. before i made any changes or any ideas about my magazine cover i done a little questionnaire for my classmates about these two magazines and which one they would prefer to set their film in, most of them chose empire magazine but this showed me to be different and create another look about my film and make the audience want to watch it. this was created in photoshop the same way as the film poster as i got taught in the clc. i found it this time a lot easier as i got the hang of it this time. in conclusion the magazine cover reveals the the emotion through the main picture and the secret in the film by the tagline and at the bottom of the magazine cover there are titles of directors and producers of the whole film which is the highlight of this magazine, so i covered all the main point i had to about sight and sound and im pleased with the outcome. i think if this magazine cover was to be sold it would be successful.

Revenge Story Board
My story board isn't in the right order but it shows shots of extreme close ups as this trailer is going to be based on a drama ( real life situation) so to make it match to this genre i want to use these close ups because it would show the emotion and and expressions of the characters face and would interact with the audience more, also it would make the viewer feel sorry for protagonists in the trailer. there are 3 main characters in this film so it don't confuse the viewers and also to make the story a bit more complicated. every shot lasts about 3/4 seconds and they are flashes to make a real life effect for the trailer and i want it to be very dramatic. the story board is going to guide me to film my trailer the way i want it and it helps me to work around it but my story boards seems quiet infectious.

Film Magazine Analysis
Sight and Sound is an independent film magazine targeted at an audience more knowledgeable about low budget, classic or independent film. Sight and Sound is also targeted at an older audience as the magazines content includes more textual pages and articles, than imagery. It also draws a more international audience as it advertises more foreign films, and subtitles.
The front cover of Sound and Sight magazine displays mainly names of film directors rather than famous actors that feature in the film. This indicates that the target audience must be more interested in the making of the film.
The magazine knows that it has an audience who will buy it regardless of whether it is popular or not.
The colour themes of Sight and Sound magazines are always simple and always use a colour palette, nothing too extravagant it tries to appeal to readers who know what they are looking for.
A specific cover that showed me this was from the Sight and Sound magazine cover of 'September 09, volume 19, issue 9' that has a big title 'The mad, The bad and The dangerous' in various fonts, main colour being red and purple. The main background colour is green and this seems to be the main attraction to the magazine cover. It also has no images this shows that the target audience must know what the cover is portraying without images this goes back to a knowledgeable audience. Throughout the magazine there still isn't many images in articles. Their main selling point seems to be the film directors and producers etc. suggested in the front cover because that's the only information displayed on the front cover about the inside of the magazine.

final film (revenge) poster
This is the final poster for my film 'Revenge'. the main photo that overtakes the background is photo taken of me the character 'Alice' covering her face with both of her hands showing that she is miserable and crying. the photo was also chosen to be edited on photo shop and used a black and white effect for the poster this is because i wanted a dull and sad mood effect to be seen by the audience, it shows the characters emotions and 'black and white' feelings. our colour theme for the poster is black, white and red, we thought this will be very affective colours for the poster as these colours are very bold and stand out to viewers. the font used was courier new this is a simple font but also adds a seriousness to the poster, its not very glamorous or fancy.
The heading (film name) title is in a big bold font to make the word 'Revenge' seem like its going to be an extravagant event in the film. The main event.
the quote underneath the title ' three's a crowd' conveys to the audience there are 3 main characters in the film and something goes extremely wrong to tarnish their relationships, this immediately shows in the quote that there is mischievous activity in the film to do with this quote. this also makes the audience curious, which then makes them want to watch the film to find out if anything is going to be resolved.
The titles at the bottom were manipulated to look like real poster titles in photo shop the include the directors name
